Comfort, Peace, and Support When You Need It Most
Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the most difficult decisions a family can face. At ZumiVet, we provide compassionate in-home pet euthanasia services throughout San Diego so your pet can remain in the comfort and familiarity of home during their final moments.
Our goal is to help create a peaceful, gentle, and low-stress experience for both pets and their families.
Unlike a busy veterinary hospital, in-home euthanasia allows your pet to rest in their favorite bed, surrounded by the people who love them most, without the stress of transportation, unfamiliar smells, or a clinical environment.
What To Expect During an In-Home Euthanasia Visit
We understand how emotional this experience can be, and we strive to provide care with empathy, patience, and dignity every step of the way.
During the visit:
- We will discuss your pet’s quality of life and answer any questions you may have
- Sedation is administered first to help your pet feel calm, relaxed, and comfortable
- Once your pet is peacefully asleep, the final medication is gently administered
- Families are never rushed and are given as much private time as needed before and afterward
Our Fear Free approach prioritizes comfort and minimizing anxiety for both pets and their families.
Aftercare & Cremation Services
If desired, we can assist with aftercare arrangements, including transportation for private or communal cremation services.
We are here to help guide you through the process and make difficult decisions feel a little less overwhelming during this time.
How Do I Know When It’s Time?
Many families struggle with knowing when the right time may be approaching. Changes that may indicate declining quality of life can include:
- Difficulty standing or walking
- Loss of appetite
- Chronic pain or discomfort
- Labored breathing
- Frequent accidents or inability to control urination or defecation
- Withdrawal from family interactions
- More bad days than good days
If you are unsure, we are happy to discuss your pet’s condition and help provide guidance.
Our team is honored to help families throughout San Diego navigate this difficult transition with compassion, dignity, and personalized care.
